3D
Artist. During this project I've had to work on varying aspects of the
art side including creature design, creature construction/texturing/animation
and level design/construction/texturing/lighting. I think I enjoy the
design aspect of the work as much as the general art side of things..

Good
points - Creating something that people don't point and laugh at. The
creativeness is an important aspect for me and I hope to keep working
on games where creative input is at maximum.
Bad
points - Modelling rocks. Not enough time to play the games I want to.
Ludicrous hours.

Got
press-ganged. I went out drinking one night and I woke up here. ... Help
me.

Playing
a demo version of the Hellgate game with bugs and test creature
AI, in which the creatures fell through walls and floated in the air and
the bike could climb rock faces backwards and fire sideways.

Pong
(or 'tennis'), on some strange Atari console with a big dial on the front
that you used to select your game. I was probably about 5 or 6 years old
or something.

Chaos
(Spectrum), X-Com UFO Enemy Unknown (Amiga) Civilization II
(PC), Sensible Soccer (Amiga - multiplayer). Although I've played
many great games in the past and it's particularly difficult to think
of just one (or four) these are a few that I seem to remember taking up
vast slices of my life either as absorbing single player or entertaining
multi-player experiences.

Right
this minute it's Red Alert 2 or Quake III over a network.
I also enjoyed the Half Life single player game.

Black
and White.

Zombies
playing golf.

Good
games.

Join
the army. Serve 15 years and you'll be ready for anything. Grrr.
Failing
that, if you want to be an artist then you have to learn a 2D and a 3D
computer package and start creating work that you can show people. I don't
know of many - if any - companies that offer on the job training.

There
is no future for video games, they will eventually be phased out in favour
of nanobots which are inserted into the eyes, that then release hallucinogenic
toxins into the bloodstream causing you to hyperventilate, have epileptic
seizures, and then die. When you die you get to play a game of 'undead
pong' where you are actually one of the bats. This is the future.
